Workshop for Young Singers and Storytellers

ICFW is proud to present Workshop for Young Singers and Young Storytellers with award-winning Broadway and film star, Betty Buckley. Thirty high-school students will be selected to study with this International legend. Students will participate in 20 special, hands-on sessions with Ms. Buckley. Under her guidance, students will learn to use their voice to tell stories on the stage. This in-depth series of programs will culminate in a final concert in the month of May.

The Tony award winner has thrilled audiences for years with acclaimed performances in such Broadway shows as Sunset Boulevard, Cats, and 1776. Recently her highly praised starring role in the M. Night Shyamalan feature film The Happening, joins her other memorable film performances which include Tender Mercies, Frantic, and Carrie. Her extensive cabaret career, and has recently received rave reviews for Broadway by Request at New York City’s prestigious Feinstein’s at Loew’s Regency nightclub. In 2009, Ms. Buckley was awarded the Texas Medal of Arts Award for Theater and was inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame in 2007.
