Imagination Celebration is excited to bring back our special guests from Mexico, Coro Yidzat il Kay. This rare group of Maya descended singers from ages 8 – 21, will delight students with traditional Maya songs as well as excerpts from famous operas. In their colorful traditional costumes, they will serenade students in five different languages.

In addition, students will be guided on a docent lead tour through the new exhibit presented by the Kimbell Art Museum “Fiery Pool: The Maya and the Mythic Sea”. This exhibit offers a new interpretation of Maya culture based on the sea as a defining feature of the Maya spiritual realm and the inspiration for much of that culture’s finest art. Over 90 works, many recently excavated and never before seen in the United States, offer exciting insights in the culture of the ancient Maya.
