Competition For High School Student Playwrights
A play-writing competition for high school students will be conducted beginning in September, 1998 through the drama departments of FWISD high schools (and selected high schools in the performing areas of the theaters belonging to the League). From the plays submitted, four winners will be chosen. individuals with professional theater experience will work with the winners to prepare their plays for a staged reading at Scott Theatre by professional actors. Winning playwrights will also receive $100 for their theatre arts departments and tickets to productions at the twelve League Theatres interested students can contact their drama teacher, the League office at 871-8575 or the project coordinator, Natalie Gaupp at 784-1469.
