MUSE
Story-telling Program
Through a special collaboration with Imagination
Celebration, the Fort Worth Public Library, the
Fort Worth Star Telegram, the Tarrant Area Guild
of Storytellers, and area museums, 2nd through
4th grade students have the opportunity to tour
several Fort Worth western art museums and
the FW public library, participate in story-telling
workshops led by nationally acclaimed
storytellers, as well as research, develop, and
tell their own story based on a western artifact.
The program culminates in a special reception
at the library where students share their storytelling
skills in a public performance. This
program also included two special teacher
workshops. This program not only provides
students with an opportunity to improve writing
and speaking skills, it demonstrates how strong
collaborations between the arts and cultural
organizations in our community can impact
education for the good.
