Explore the World's Indigenous Cultures
Marianne Greenwood
Marianne Greenwood is a photographer, author, and world citizen. Forty years ago she began traveling all over the world. Eventually she would traverse around the world six times on foot and by boat visiting the still-wild lands of the Americas and the Pacific Basin. On her travels she lived with the native peoples for extended periods of time, learning their cultures and ways of life. She has related her experiences to the world through her photography and writing. Over the years, Marianne captured life in over 30,000 photos. Her photos bring other cultures and worlds to life for millions to learn from. Her work and devotion to her art has shown our modern day world that passion can carry you as far as you can dream. Along with her travels and documentation of her experiences, she also made a stop in France where she met Pablo Picasso. To our world's great pleasure, she was allowed to photograph Picasso in his studio, an accomplishment not granted to many. She was also lucky enough to be painted by this great master.

The Art of Exploration Student Explorer Program
Exploring the World through the Eyes of Marianne Greenwood!
Students will meet Milbry Polk, explorer of the world and Founder of Wings World Quest. Ms. Polk will capture their imaginations with tales of her own exploration across the desert on the back of a camel and will bring the adventures of Marianne Greenwood vibrantly to life. Our student "Imagination Explorers" will hear the music of the Andes with the Wanayay Incan Players from Peru! Students will create varied art works and dance with Indian Artists from New Mexico, Oaxaca, and Africa! We invite your classrooms to join us to explore foreign lands and their peoples with Marianne's amazing photographs reproduced in a large scale onto canvas in this special exhibition.
