Explore Space and the Possibility of Life on Mars
Nathalie Cabrol - Leader of the Mars Probe Project
Nathalie Cabrol has been the SETI Institute Principal Investigator at NASA Ames Research Center since 1998. Her interest is in understanding the evolution of water on Mars from the past to the present. She is trying to find out if Mars developed environments that could have been (or still could be) habitable by living organisms. Nathalie worked with a group of highly trained NASA scientists to create the Mars Probe! Nathalie's search for life in mysterious places doesn't extend only to outer space. She has traveled to the harshest environments on Earth searching for proof of life to establish when and where life stops existing. She has been to the highest mountains and the coldest regions of Earth doing her research.

Art of Exploration Student Explorer Program
Explore Mars and the Future!
"Imagination Explorers" are invited to meet Nathalie Cabrol and learn how her contributions to science have opened and will open many doors for future research as rovers continue to explore the terrain on Mars. Students will see a film on Ms. Cabrol's work. Students will have workshops with specialists from NASA. They will soar to the music of Arturo Rodriguez' symphony From Earth to Mars… a Symphonic Journey, written especially for Imagination Celebration Fort Worth as a part of the National Millennium Celebration and selected by the White House to represent the Mars Millennium project in the National Archives! Students will create and launch rockets, create habitats for Mars with CrayolaDreamaker artists, plant sweet potatoes in simulated Martian soil, and work with professional musicians to create their very own music for Mars!
