The National Youth Orchestra of Mexico The National Youth Orchestra of Mexico
The National Youth Orchestra of Mexico is back by popular demand and will perform for students October 26 and 27, 2006! For the past five years, Imagination Celebration Fort Worth’s nationally award winning program has been emulated in Mexico, and a new “learning partnership” has formed between Imagination Celebration and Mexico. This has given ICFW the opportunity to bring a host of artists, performers, cultural leaders, and scientists from Mexico to our area teachers and students. As a part of this learning exchange, the 240-member student orchestra will present music of Mexico to student and public audiences. These young musicians hail from every state in Mexico and range in age from 8 to 18. Specially designed study materials based on A Celebration of Mexico and addressing the rich and beautiful culture and history of our international neighbor are available to all participating classrooms.
