Imagination Celebration Fort Worth

December brings us to the holidays and the end of 1998. We've had a very exciting year and look forward to the new year as we make our way to the new millenium. This month we'd like to highlight two artists in our community that have programs that run throughout the school year. Tom McDermott (storyteller) with his program Once Upon A Word and Tom Burkett with Blue Bonnet Brass performing From Bach to Big Bands. To learn more about these fine artists please follow the links and to see their schedules check out the calendar on the navigation bar above. See you next month! See you next month!

November brings us to a full month of programs including "The Nutcracker" performed for all first graders in the FWISD at the Scott Theater by Le Theatre de Marionettes." Also, Patrick Regan and his bagpipes will be here a full week visiting elementary schools throughout Fort Worth.

Live Stage Photo September finds us finishing up the details from our biggest single project ever - Pepito's Story.

We would to thank all the people who made this show such an outstanding production. The volunteers both at rehearsals and on the various committees. The production and office staff and to all those wonderful people who came down to the office to lend a hand with mailers and telephones.

Thank you all very much we couldn't have done it without you!

Most of all we'd like to thank the children in the production. Since June these children, under the direction of Stephen Smith and Debbie Allen, have put in countless hours of rehearsals and made the show one of the best stage productions we have seen anywhere on any stage. Congratulations to each and every one of you for an outstanding job well done!

For a closer look at the cast of Pepito's Story follow this retrospective link. I'll be adding more photos and text as the month progresses so check back often.

August 1998

This month is our production of Pepito's Story. The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. commissioned Debbie Allen to create this show for youth and families for the 25th anniversary of our national performing arts center. It is a celebration of the talents of young people and creates a vehicle for a group of youth to work with top level performing arts professionals.
10,000 area students will be the first student audiences in Fort Worth's Bass Performance Hall. They will attend performances during their school day at no charge. Families will have the opportunity to attend four public performances at family prices!

Arturo Sandoval

July 1998

Continuing with our highlight of "Pepito's Story" and the people involved with the production. This month we'd like to draw your attention to Arturo Sandoval, the great Cuban jazz musician and composer. Be sure to click Arturo's picture to see another biography.
