Partners Through Art
Students from nine art classes (elementary, middle, and high school), from throughout the city, visit the galleries for a series of three educational experiences. The overall goals of Partners Through Art are to inspire independent and critical thinking skills through the visual arts and to create an awareness that art museums are places for life-long learning. Teacher's guides on the collection, the instruction provided by Museum docents and staff, and the development of a Museum Teaching Resource Center will enable teachers to provide the most comprehensive and practical art instruction possible for their students. The educational components of this specially-tailored program include teacher and docent instruction for each of the three visits, meetings with the 9 teachers involved before the program begins (August or September) and a concluding meeting to evaluate the program. Schools will be pre-selected by the Museum Education Department staff and the FWISD Art Director.
