Anne Frank & Friends
Through the Eyes of a Friend
Living voices, a nonprofit education organization in Seattle, has made a substantial contribution to the effort to keep the memories of the Holocaust alive. The Living Voices production, “Through the Eyes of a Friend,” paints a picture of the Holocaust in a way that speaks to today’s students, using a fresh approach to Anne Frank’s life story in a way that captivates and engages. Based on true accounts from her friends, Anne Frank’s life before and after the family was forced into hiding is told in intimate detail. By combining live theater with historical video, this program tells the story through the eyes of Anne Frank’s best friend, Sarah. “Through the Eyes of a Friend,” encourages audiences to discover their personal awareness of stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination.
