At the age of nine, Lacy Darryl Phillips performed with Bette Davis in Miss Moffat. From there he has gone on to become an accomplished actor, singer, dancer, choreographer, and director. He has toured the United States and performed on Broadway in Raisin' starring as Travis Younger; Sophisticated Ladies; Bob Fosse's Dancin'; Anything Goes starring Patti Lupone; Sweet Charity; and most recently, the Tony-nominated production of Play On directed by Sheldon Epps. Under the direction of Debbie Allen, Mr. Phillips has been an assistant and performed on such projects as A Different World, The Academy Awards, Polly I and Poly II, the national tour of Brothers of the Knight and played Teddy the emcee in Stompin' at the Savoy. He has choreographed for both television and stage for such artists as Vanessa Williams, Karyn White, Phylicia Rashad, Expose, Sandra Reaves, Lonnie Gordon, Jimmy Z, Seiko Matsuda, CeCe Peniston and Tony Terry. Most recently Mr. Phillips staged the national touring company production of The Wiz, starring Grace Jones and Peabo Bryson. He is associate choreographer/director for the Mariah Carey Butterfly World Tour. Mr. Phillips can also be seen in the films Sister Act II, Death Becomes Her, and A Chorus Line among others.
